Data Modeling, Formula & Graphical Documentation

Data Modeling :-

We will use the Data Modelling to List out the fields from a form, which we want to use in Formula Parser and Graphical Reports.



Click on ADD button, and system will display a pop-up window as shown below.


Enter the Name and Description, then click on SAVE button, then system shall display the following Data Modelling, add screen as shown below.


Hover the Mouse on DRAG TABLE button and then drag it down to the empty space, then system shall display a pop-up window as shown below.


Click on the --Select-- below the “Table” field shown in above image, system shall display all the List of the forms available in the application as shown below.


Select the required form, under the table field then system shall save the selected form in the dropdown as shown below.


We will enable YES for below shown field, if the current data model is used in formula parser and current table is the target table of calculation. Otherwise it will be ‘NO’ only.


Click on Visibility Clause, beside Table Details, then system shall display the fields details present in the selected Form in Table Details as shown below.


In the above shown image, Enable the visibility for the fields (which need to be used in Formula parser as well as Graphical Reports),and then click on save changes button, system shall save the fields and then display the Data Modelling as shown below.


Hover the mouse on data model, you will get configure and delete options as shown below.


If clicked on Configure then the below screen will be displayed, where you can edit the fields in that table.


We can Maintain the Link between two Data Model Tables with Joins(Inner,Outer,Right,Left) and need to provide the conditions as shown below



When Clicked on the Activity of Join the Following screen will be visible


Click on the Conditions tab,conditions are given according to the requirement,as shown below.


Formula Parser :-

Click on Parser tab in App Admin.


System shall navigate the user to the Formula Parser Records page as shown below.


Click on ADD button, system shall navigate the user to the Add page of formula parser as shown below.


Enter the Formula Name in “Formula Name” field, then click on select beside Data Model, system shall display all the data models list available as shown below.


Select the required data model and click on Execute Model button.

After that Type the formula in the formula field and the suggestions shall be displayed, if the entered text matches to fields as per the attached data model, as shown below.


Select the Field from the suggestions, system shall display that as shown below.


Enter the calculation controls like +, -, *, / etc., and click on ENTER button in order to include them properly in the formula field. User can also enter Numeric (Both Positive and Negative) in the same way by clicking ENTER once the required Numeral is entered.


Click on “x” mark highlighted in above image in order to remove any term in the formula field. Once the formula is entered, then click on Submit button.

System shall save the formula and navigate the user to the formula parser records page as shown below.


If you want to edit the created formula, then select the formula and click on EDIT button.


System shall navigate the user to the edit page of the selected formula as shown below.


Edit the formula as per the requirement then click on submit to save the formula.

Toggle the icon beside ACTIVE field to NO in order to deactivate the Formula from parser.


Click on submit button


System shall deactivate the formula and navigate the user back to the Formula parser records page, and Is Active field will be unchecked as the formula is deactivated, as shown in the image below.


Follow the same procedure and Toggle YES for ACTIVE field, in order to Activate back the formula again.

Reports :-

Click the App Admin tab and select Reports Sub tab.


System shall navigate the user to the Records page of Reports as shown below.


Click on ADD button, system shall navigate the user to the New Report ADD page as shown below.


Enter the Report Name in the field beside Report Name, and then click on NEW DATASET button, system shall save the name and then Add a row under New Dataset as shown below.


Click on ADD MODEL under Query column, then system shall add a dropdown field as shown below.


Click on Select, then system shall display the list of Data Models available in the application, as shown below.


Select the Data Model, then click on column descriptors Link, system shall display a popup screen as shown below.


You can change the Data type of a control, Visibility and Appear as Filter.

The data type can be applied as per the dropdown list shown below, select the Data type.


If you disable visibility of a field, then it won’t be displayed in graphical report.

If you Enable Appear as Filter for a field, then the field can be applied as a filter in the graph.

After you checked the visibility, appear as filter click on Back button, System shall close the popup screen, and will display the screen as shown below.


Click on Options link under Default Charters column, system shall display a popup as shown below.


Click on the required type of chart in order to configure (Hold ctrl to select Multiple), click on Bar graph, system shall display the Chart Options as shown below.


Click on Select Dropdown under Default X-Axis Column, System will display the fields which you selected to Appear as filter in the Column Descriptors, as shown below.


Select the Default X-Axis column field, system will save the field


By Default, the Default Y-Axis column will be “Auto Calculate”, if you want to Add/Display any particular field in Y Axis, then the Data type of the column in the Column Descriptors should be any of the Integer/Float/Double, as shown below.



Select field then the selected field only will be displayed in Y-Axis. (We have given Data type as integer for Text Box 3 column)(This Graphical Report can be seen when configured in Pages and has to give Access for that Graph report in Roles)


If Auto Calculate is selected as Default Y-Axis Column, then the graph is displayed as shown below.


Click on Dropdown under Vertical Axis, it will display all the Y-Axis filters we can apply as shown below. (Columns with data types Integer/Float/Double).


Select the required filter, then system shall display the report with the selected field in Y-Axis.


Click on Pie, system shall display the Pie chart Options as shown below.


We selected columns of X and Y in Bar graph Options, in the same way, we need to select for Pie chart also.

If you check Extend Charter to Donut, then the pie chart will be displayed in the form of Donut.

Example :


Click on Multi Bar, System will display the Multi-Bar chart Options as shown below.


Default Group By column: For a multi bar graph, based on what we need to group the graphical report, that we will select here.

Default Categorize By column: In the graphical report, we will categorize for a group by column.

Default Y axis column is just like the way we configured in Bar Graph.


In the above Example image, Group by is done by SITE NAME, categorize by is done by Criticality of a record (Major, Critical, Minor) and default Y axis column is given Auto Calculate.

In the same way, we need to configure Line Graph as well just like Multi Bar. The Example graph to get an overview is as shown below.



Click on Filters (Optional) link under Filters column.

System shall display a popup screen as shown below.


Click on Add Filters button, then a new row will be displayed as shown below.


We can edit the Column Name and Filter type so that we can use the configured filter by default in the report.

Filter type: click on dropdown with name Logged User, system shall display the list as shown below.


If Logged User is selected: Then the data of the selected column name in the graphical report, related to the logged in user shall be displayed.

If Logged User Department is selected: Then the data of the selected column name in the graphical report, related to the all the users who belong to logged user department shall be displayed.

If Logged User Department Hierarchy is selected: Then the data of the selected column name in the graphical report, related to the all the users present in Organisation Hierarchy who belong to logged user department shall be displayed.

If Logged User Division is selected: Then the data of the selected column name in the graphical report, related to the all the users who belong to logged user division shall be displayed.
